On November 7th, the list of those called up for the Brazilian team for the World Cup in Qatar was released. 

After much anticipation for this revelation, fans were not very happy with one of the names mentioned.

Among other options for the right-back position, such as Emerson Royal, who made some appearances for the national team and is in great form, the coach preferred the player who was just doing physical exercises and training at Barcelona B.

It is worth mentioning that his performance in Mexico was not among the best. He was responsible for the first goal scored by América, in a match against Pumas, which ended 3-0 for the opposing team.

The press did not forgive, nor did the fans. In August, the player was booed playing at home, when Santos Laguna won the game by five to one, in the 10th round of the Mexican Championship. Furthermore, the athlete only won his first match for the team after eight games.

Therefore, criticisms regarding his summons are, at the very least, justifiable. As for them, the star defended himself, saying there was no way to please everyone.

The pressure from the fans put the coach in a tight spot. At a press conference, he was asked about the decision to call up the player.

Before responding, Tite asked the Brazilian team's physical trainer to take the floor. After all, Dani was left out of the games against Ghana and Tunisia, on the 23rd and 27th of September, the team's last games before the World Cup squad list. 

It was stated that Daniel was removed from the September call-ups due to physical problems, as he had low levels of power and strength. 

However, the star improved these indices, showing great progress. Finally, the physical trainer informed that the player is ready for the World Cup.

There is no doubt that, despite everything, Daniel Alves is a legend of world football, being the player with the most professional titles in history.

On his resume, he has won the UEFA Cup, Copa America, Champions League, Confederations Cup, Olympics, among many others. 

After this demonstration, Tite took the floor, presenting a shallow justification. The “professor” said that the criteria for selecting Dani Alves were the same as those used for the other names. 

In his speech, Tite also stated that the player rewards technical and individual quality, as well as physical and mental aspects. He also took the opportunity to say that Dani is an articulator and organizer.

It wasn't the answer fans expected, but it was enough to spark speculation.

Although the player has not shown good results playing for São Paulo, Barcelona and Pumas, there is no denying that he is one of the team's leaders.

In the selection group, it was always evident that both the team and Tite blindly trust the player. He has a good relationship with the most experienced, but also with the youngest.

Therefore, many fans believe that Dani's call-up was motivated by the plan to “win the group”: a good leader, to maintain good relations between the team. As the coach himself stated, the athlete is an organizer.

In the most important championship for football, it is clear that good coexistence between players is essential to keep things in order. 

But is it worth the gamble? Respect does not buy the importance of good physical conditioning for a position as important as that of the player. 

After all, a right-back needs to travel great distances, both to participate in the creation of attacking alternatives and to close the defensive lines.

Brazil will debut in the World Cup on November 24th, in a game against Serbia. Regardless of the current discontent, moving the Brazilian this season is the six's hope.
