The Campeonato Mineiro is a state competition that takes place in Minas Gerais, where the best teams come together to compete for the title.

Therefore, it is a very competitive competition, there is a lot of rivalry between the teams, as they are all from the same state.

Firstly, the Campeonato Mineiro takes place in two phases, the group stage and the knockouts.

12 teams participate in this competition, but they are divided into three groups with 4 teams each.

Furthermore, each team plays against the other teams, except for the teams in its own bracket.

Following the following scoring rule: The team that wins gets three points, the team that ties gets one point each, and the team that loses gets no points.

At the end of the eight rounds, the team with the most points in each group, and the second-placed team with the most points, taking into account the three groups, advance to the knockout stages.

In other words, the first placed team from groups A, B and C goes to the knockout stage, and the second best placed team from the three groups also advances.

Finally, after the group stage, the four remaining teams compete in semi-finals and finals in round-trip games.
