Argentina x Croatia

Croatia Overview

The first classification of this World Cup for the semi-finals was Croatia, after defeating Brazil on penalties.

The game between these two teams was a very tight game, where the tie persisted until the end of the second half of extra time.

Furthermore, the first goal only came at the end of the first half of extra time, with Neymar. However, the draw came right at the end of the game, where Brazil's victory was almost declared, Petkovic left everything the same on the scoreboard taking everything to penalties.

A decision that was more of a demerit to Brazil than a great performance from Croatia. The Brazilian team missed two penalties, so the Croatians didn't even need to take their last penalty.

On the other hand, Croatia proved to be a very resilient team, it is the second game in which they have come under a lot of pressure and managed to take the game on penalties.

Argentina Overview

The Argentines, like the Croatians, only managed to qualify after two periods of extra time, plus penalties.

Unlike the game between Brazil x Croatia, the Netherlands and Argentina fought a straightforward duel, with both teams going head on.

Match marked by the confrontation between the strong attack of the Albi Celeste team, and the defensive wall of the Mechanical Orange team.

The Argentine team managed to score early, remaining calm until near the end of the second half.

After Messi scored the second goal from the penalty spot, it was difficult to stop the Dutch momentum, which with the imminent defeat, went all or nothing.

The Netherlands completely changed their game to focus on aerial balls, and exposed a major defensive problem for Argentina.

The Dutch came closer and closer to scoring, using their tall players to threaten the opponent's goal with headers, until Weghorst scored and sparked the game.

Managing to equalize at the end of the second half in a rehearsed play, Weghorst scores again, but this time, with his feet.

Making clear another problem for the Argentine team, despite the strong attack managing to score goals early, they demonstrate difficulties in maintaining results.

What to expect from Croatia x Argentina

Argentina has a similar way of playing to Brazil, positioning itself very well in attack and defending itself with a fast and light defense, which also advances to provide support in offensive attacks.

Therefore, it is possible that Croatia will play exactly as they did against Brazil, maintaining possession of the ball to take away their opponent's offensive, betting on a good exchange of passes from their midfield to reach the goal.

Something that could differ a lot in this match is if the Argentines manage to be effective in their attacks, scoring goals early in the match, something that Brazil was unable to do.

In this case, the Croatians will need to dismantle their defensive posture a little and go on the attack.

It's no secret that Argentina are the favorites for this match, and will play to score early and avoid a penalty shootout with battle-hardened Croatia.

France x Morocco

France Overview

France is coming off a great victory against England, a game where they created a lot, and all the big gears of this team worked well.

Most notably, the midfield, who managed to maintain productive possession of the ball, distributing it well to the attacking players.

Furthermore, the French attack is packed, with Mbappe at his peak, and Giroud converting practically every chance he has. The two players are at the top of the scoring list for this World Cup.

Apart from the dead ball chances, England did little damage to France's goal. Even with all the injuries, this team remains the favorite for the title.

Morocco Overview

The biggest surprise of this World Cup so far. A style of play full of determination and a lot of dedication, the Moroccans are conquering their space.

A team that has been playing very convincing games since the start of the competition.

Their last game was against the imposing Portugal team, however, after beating great teams like Belgium and Spain, this was not a problem for Morocco.

In a very difficult game, with strong pressure from the Portuguese, Morocco's defense had to work hard to guarantee the victory, especially the goalkeeper.

Portugal dominated the game, but the Moroccans were more effective, and in the first arrival, with 41 in the first half, Nesyri, rose above the opposing goalkeeper and scored the first and only goal of the match.

Making it clear that the Moroccans know how to work well without the ball, and in addition, they handle aerial plays very well.

What to expect from Morocco x France

France has the best attack in the competition, and Morocco the best defense, what can be expected from a game between these two teams, are consequences of their playing styles.

The Moroccans, evidently, focus on strengthening their defense, even when attacking, using a lot of their strong right side to make crosses towards the opponent's area.

France, on the other hand, goes up as a block to attack, that is, they manage to involve the opposing team with good passes until they reach the goal.

France is the clear favorite for this clash, but the already fallen teams from Spain and Portugal were also.

If France is effective and manages to score goals early, Morocco will be forced to give up its defensive strength, leaving even more gaps to concede goals.

The Moroccans probably intend to reach penalties, where they could bet on their goalkeeper who is going through a great phase.

Despite this, if Morocco manages to get ahead on the scoreboard, and then be able to close in on defense, France will have a lot of work to get a goal from this team.
