Japan x Costa Rica

Overview:

In the first match of the day, Japan, after beating Germany, had the chance to achieve an incredible advanced classification, even though they were in the group of death. However, something went wrong.

A certain zebra appeared, called Costa Rica, who became known in the 2018 World Cup for beating the favorite teams.

After the Costa Ricans lost 7-0 to Spain, they were unfazed and still fighting for qualification.

But we'll see how things went on the field.

First time

In the first half there were no great chances to score. Japan had tactical superiority over Costa Rica, which defended itself throughout the first stage.

Second time

The match practically started in the second half, after all, with both teams going out more to look for goals, the chances began to appear.

In the first seconds of the second stage, Japan came with everything. There was a beautiful pass from Asano, and Morita shot hard at the goal, but Navas saved it.

The goalkeeper also played a good role in the other plays where the Japanese arrived with danger, being one of the protagonists of the game.

Costa Rica's winning goal came almost at the end of the game, in the 80th minute, when Japan hesitated and lost the ball in defense, Fuller, with a beautiful shot, scored the goal and guaranteed the victory.

Situation of the teams in their groups:

With this result, Costa Rica reaches 3 points and is still fighting for classification.

Japan, on the other hand, could have reached the round of 16, but now it depends on a victory, or a combination of results involving Costa Rica's defeat.

Belgium x Morocco

Overview

The Belgian team was coming off a victory over Canada, and hoped to find an easier game against Morocco, which showed a level of football well above its European counterparts.

First time

Contrary to what was seen in the result, the one who started playing better was Belgium, who reached the opponent's goal twice before the 10th minute.

Both chances with Batshuayi, a through ball, and the second with an aerial ball.

Morocco started to arrive more at the end of the first half and even managed to score, however, the goal was disallowed for offside.

Second time

Once again, the best start is Belgium, who almost scored with a beautiful shot from Hazard, but the goal was prevented by the beautiful defense of Munir, Morocco's goalkeeper.

The first goal only came in the 72nd minute. Sabiri, following a free kick close to the area, shot straight at the goal, even without an angle and, to his delight, Cortouis missed and the ball went in.

To finish, there was a beautiful play by Ziyech, who crossed into the area where Zakaria guaranteed the 2 x 0, as well as the three points for Morocco.

Situation of the teams in their groups:

With this, Morocco is in the lead and only depends on itself to qualify. In the case of Belgium, the team is in 3rd place, which is a bad position, but still with a great chance of qualifying.

Croatia x Canada

Overview

The finalist showed what she came for and managed to impose herself against the dynamic Canadian team.

Even after starting to lose, the Croatians put the ball on the ground and showed their football in the comeback.

First time

Canada used its fast full-backs to attack the Croatia area with many crosses and, in the first minute, managed to score through Ben Davies.

After the scare, the Croatians calmed down the game and showed their superiority. Kramaric, at 35, scored the equalizer, and soon after with a shot from outside the area, Livaja turned it around.

Second time

In the second half Croatia came out more organized. With the approach of the midfielders, Modric and Perisic, the game flowed better and Canada's quick moves were neutralized by possession of the ball.

There was still time for Kramaric to score one more, and for Majer to add another, scoring the rout.

Situation of the teams in their groups:

Croatia took the lead ahead of Morocco based on goal difference, and Canada, despite having good games, says goodbye to the competition early.

Overview

The most anticipated duel of the day! In this game, Spain had a chance of qualifying and had an impressive goal difference of 7. Germany, who lost to Japan in their debut, were looking for redemption.

Even with this discrepancy, the two teams tied. Check out the details of this game.

First time

The superiority at the beginning of the first half was very visible, after all, Spain dominated every space on the field and had the best opportunities.

Olmo, from Spain, almost managed to score a goal in the sixth minute, but the ball hit the post after a subtle deflection by Neuer.

However, the best opportunities at the end of the first half came from Germany, which arrived little by little.

Second time

In the momentum of the first half, the Germans started the second half better, using the Spanish goalkeeper a lot.

However, Spain scored first with Morata who, with a through ball, opened the scoring.

The Spanish managed to dominate almost until the end of the game, when the German coach moved very well, putting Sané and Füllkrug together.

With these two players, the team gained speed and attacking power, so much so that in the 82nd minute, in a play involving the two athletes, the team tied.

Situation of the teams in their groups:

Spain missed the chance to qualify early, but is still in a comfortable situation, and faces Japan in search of qualification.

On the other hand, Germany is not in such a pleasant position, but a defeat would take the team out of the World Cup, so it was a good result for the Germans.
