Morocco x Croatia
The first game of the day started very slowly, with the two teams exposing themselves very little.
Croatia tried to score with long-distance shots, while Morocco disrupted the midfield to prevent the opponent from creating, from what we can see, it worked.
The only chances the Croatians had in the first half were with a shot from Perisic, in the 16th minute, which went close to goalkeeper Yassine Bounou's crossbar, and a bomb from Luka Modrić, but it didn't go in either.
However, Morocco used defense as a strategy, consequently, it barely reached Croatia's goal, which was barely threatened.
The Moroccans' biggest chances came from plays created on the right, with Hakimi and Ziyech, who arrived with danger and managed to cross the ball into the area, but without much effectiveness, as none of them turned into good chances.
Morocco also had good chances with dead balls, however, they were not used well either.
The biggest opportunities came in the second stage.
At the beginning of the first half, Croatia's goal was threatened with danger, with a header from Mazraoui, but the Croatian goalkeeper made sure to keep the score 0-0.
A few minutes later, Morocco had the best chance of the match, when Hakimi arrived, in the 19th minute, the player managed a beautiful shot that goalkeeper LIvakovic punched away.
A game marked by the good performance of the goalkeepers.
Japan x Germany
The underdog appeared again in this game, the giant Germany was defeated by the compact Japan team, with an upset to boot.
Another great match to make World Cup history, Japan, who had never achieved an upset in this competition, reversed the score against four-time world champion Germany.
In the match, as always, the Germans started to put a lot of pressure on, they had 78% possession of the ball, however, without much objectivity.
Japan had its first scare in the seventh minute, where they scored, but the player was offside.
Soon after, Germany reacted with Rudiger's header, the ball went close, but they were unable to score.
The moments that followed were great chances for the Germans to jump in front, in the first, in a beautiful save, the Japanese goalkeeper avoided what would have been a great goal from Kimmich.
In the second, Kimmich was brought down in the area by the goalkeeper, who had just saved his team from scoring. The one who hit was Gundogã, who opened the scoring for Germany.
Close to the 25th minute, Japan's goalkeeper made a sequence of 4 consecutive saves, preventing the Germans from killing the game.
At 75, on the rebound of a shot by Minamino, Moan scored and tied the game. Less than 10 minutes later, after a beautiful cross, Asano dominated beautifully and scored the winning goal.
Guaranteeing a good position in the table, Germany is in a terrible situation, almost having to beat Spain in the next round.
Spain x Costa Rica
This match was the biggest defeat so far, Spain came to show all their football.
The Costa Rican team is going through a period of reformulation after their incredible campaign in the 2018 World Cup, but this year, they got the worst of it.
Spain simply dominated the entire game, with no chance for Costa Rica to react.
The Spanish scored goals practically every 10 minutes.
The first came with Olmo, who dominated beautifully in the penalty area and covered the goalkeeper. After that, it was a dance.
Soon after, Ascencio receives a low cross and sends it into the net, increasing the score. The 3 x 0 came from a penalty with Ferran Torres.
The other four goals came in the second half, he was the first to score after the break again, Ferran Torres played under the goalkeeper and scored his second goal.
Now, in a quick sequence in the final moments of the match, Gavi scores a beautiful goal after a millimetric cross. Right after Soler in a rebound from the goalkeeper, the attacker chooses the corner to hit and also scores.
Finally, the experienced Morata, after a quick pass, hits the corner and scores the goal, creating the biggest defeat of the 2022 World Cup to date.
A one-team game, Spain arrives very strong for the next games
Belgium x Canada
Unlike the last match, between Canada and Belgium, the net only shook once.
A game to show the strength of the Canadian team, who despite the defeat played an incredible game. On the other hand, even though Belgium emerged victorious, they did not present their best football.
The game was marked by great tactical efficiency in creating the North American team, however, it only lacked a little finishing power.
Furthermore, Ben Davies, a full-back from Canada, saw Courtois looming over him, in the 11th minute of the first half the Belgian saved his team by saving a penalty, which ultimately gave Belgium the victory.
The Europeans only managed to score at the end of the first half, after a shot that came from the defense, Batshuayi scored with a beautiful shot and guaranteed the victory for Belgium, who spent the rest of the game holding on to the result.
And with some games well balanced, and others not so much, the fourth day of the World Cup ends.
