In a very difficult game against Serbia, Brazil came out with the victory and, in addition, with another protagonist to help in the victory of Hexa.
In this article, we will talk a little about the “pigeon”, as they call Brazil’s new idol.
Richarlison's journey to the World Cup
The striker, who is inspired by Ronaldo Fenômeno, sent Brazilian fans into a frenzy in the last match.
After a very tense game against Serbia, the player ended up scoring two goals and giving Brazil the victory.
Remembering that the second goal was a work of art, a true goal. A move to show the whole world that Brazilian football is more alive than ever.
After a beautiful cross from Vinicius Junior, Richarlison dominated the ball in the air, and turned in a perfect volley, sending the ball into the net and sending the stadium crazy.
But this is already the player's peak! Check out the athlete's journey to becoming a starter in the Brazilian team, and how he increases Brazil's chances of becoming champions.
Early career
The charismatic player began his professional career in 2015, with América MG, which soon guaranteed his transfer to an elite team in Brazilian football, Fluminense.
However, as a child, the player worked cleaning windows and cars and selling popsicles to help his family.
Especially the beginning was very difficult for Richarlison, after the refusal of several clubs, such as Avaí and Figueirense, before getting an opportunity at Coelho.
The player went to Minas Gerais with just a one-way ticket to try and get a chance at América MG. With his bet paying off, recognition soon came.
From the beginning, the athlete stood out, playing 24 games with nine goals, and consequently was a key player in the club's access to series A of the Brazilian Championship.
Soon after his good performances, he was transferred to Fluminense. In the first games he was injured and spent most of the year without playing. However, with the arrival of coach Abel Ferreira, things changed direction.
With this Fluminense coach, Richarlison experienced his best phase in Brazilian football, and is still grateful for the coach's help in developing his career as an athlete.
However, his great story began when he was transferred to Watford.
Arrival at the national team
Everything happened very quickly in the player's career, including his first call-up to the Brazilian national team.
After being highlighted in series A and B of the Brasileirão, and receiving great respect in Europe's biggest league, the Premier League, he won his first invitation to play with hopscotch.
Richarlison was called up to play against the United States and El Salvador, in friendly matches, and the first step towards his dream of playing in a World Cup was taken on that day.
Winning title
The main reason for the player's starting role, without a doubt, was his impeccable performance for the team at the Olympics.
The athlete was the main highlight of the Brazilian team, scoring 5 goals and being the competition's top scorer in winning the Olympic medal.
Richarlison looks like he was born to play hopscotch. There are already 11 goals in nine games, since the player started wearing number 9.
Furthermore, the star is still in a great phase at his current club, Tottenham.
The World Cup dream
On November 7th, the official list of players called up to play in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar was released.
Richarlison's dream has finally come true, and the boy from Nova Venécia is heading towards the top of world football. Now, the athlete is finally considered one of the best players in his country.
However, a month before the World Cup, the player went through great drama. While playing for the English team, he injured his calf, and after learning that he could be out of the competition, his ground collapsed.
In an interview, the athlete said that the day he took the tests to find out the severity of the injury was the most difficult day of his life.
But the good news came: Richarlison had been injured, but with intensive treatment, it was completely possible to return to playing until the start of the competition.
And speaking of intensity, to quickly return to the field, the player was doing three physiotherapy sessions a day and, according to his physiotherapist, the athlete wanted to wake up at dawn to complement it with an extra session.
In an interview, the player said “I won’t miss this World Cup for anything.”
The new number 9 of the Brazilian team
In recent years, Brazil has had some problems finding a center forward who would work in attack.
The number 9 shirt of the Brazilian team is not heavier than the number 10 that Pelé wore, however, it carries a great story. Great players like Careca, Tostão and the giant Ronaldo Fenômeno wore it.
In 2014 with Fred, and 2018 with Gabriel Jesus, our last two number 9s had unremarkable spells in the World Cup. In total, the two players went 8 World Cup games without scoring.
Gabriel Jesus didn't score a goal in the Russian Cup, and Fred scored just once in 2014.
Richarlison arrived to break this curse and, in the first game, scored two goals and surpassed his competitors.
Everyone knows that this position is extremely important for our team, which has not had a prominent final finisher for years.
It is with this great weapon that Brazil is preparing to face Cameroon in the next round.
